Gadh Wala Chicken bhaat


 

Chicken                            1 kg

Jeera                                ½ tbsp

Coriander seeds              1 tbsp

Black pepper                    10-12 pcs

Cinamon                          1 inch

Bay leaf                            2-3 pcs

Cloves                              12-13 pcs

Dry red chilli                     3-4 pcs

Green cardamom             4 pcs

Onion                               1 ½ cup

Tomatoes chopped          1 ½ cup

Mustard oil                        ¼ cup

Coriander chopped           2 tbsp

Ginger & garlic paste        2 tbsp

Ginger                               ½ inch

Garlic                                15-20 cloves

Green chillies                    3-4 pcs

Turmeric pwd                     ½ tbsp

Water                                 as required

Salt                                     1 tbsp

 

Boiled Rice 

 

Rice         1 cup

Water       2 cup

 

Wash and rinse rice thoroughly.

Transfer it to a pressure cooker, add water and cook for 2-3 whistles.

Serve hot with the ghad wala chicken.  

 

Heat a pan, add jeera, coriander seeds, black pepper, cloves, dried red chilli, cinnamon and dry roast them.

Transfer it to a mortar and pestle or mixer grinder and add garlic cloves, ginger, little water and make a fine paste. Keep aside.

Heat a pan, add mustard oil, smoke it and bring to a semi hot temperature.

Add bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves, black pepper, green cardamom and let it crackle.

Then add chopped onion and saute till it goes light brown.

Add ginger garlic paste and saute it.

Then add chopped tomatoes, salt, turmeric pwd and cook till tomatoes get soft enough. 

Add the paste, chopped green chillies,little water and cook for a while.

Then add chicken, water and cook it for 20-25 mins on medium flame.

Ghad wala styled chicken is ready to serve.

Garnish it with chopped coriander and serve hot with plain rice.
