Cooking Tips

  1. Room Temperature Ingredients: Before you start, make sure that all of your items are at room temperature. The butter and eggs should be at room temperature. This makes sure that the batter is smoother and that the ingredients are better mixed in.
  2. Proper Mixing: When you add the dry ingredients, be careful not to mix the batter too much. Too much mixing can make the cake thick and tough.
  3. Pineapple Preparation: If you use fresh pineapple, make sure to squeeze out any extra juice so the cake does not get too wet. You can also use pineapple from a can. If you're using fresh pineapple for this recipe, check out this helpful guide from The Spruce Eats to learn the best techniques for cutting and preparing pineapples.
  4. Baking Time: Near the end of the baking time, keep an eye on the cake to make sure it does not get too done. A toothpick stuck in the middle should come out clean or with a few wet crumbs on it.
  5. Cooling: Let the cake cool all the way in the pan before taking it out and frosting it. This keeps the cake from falling apart and makes sure the frosting goes on smoothly.
